WESTFORD, MA – The Westford Recycling Commission (WRC) is holding compost demonstrations for residents on Saturdays, July 17, 24 and 31, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am
The demonstrations, which will be held in the Old Town Garage on Beacon St., will give locals an opportunity to learn how to properly compost organic material.
According to the commission, up to 20% of the weight of our waste is organic. Composting removes food waste from the trash and reduces the high cost of garbage collection at Westford, which has increased 9% this year.
Earth machine composters will be available to residents at the upcoming demonstrations for $ 25.
