The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has started the renovation of the composting plant, which has been shut down for three years.

In this context, Rafia Haider, CEO of LWMC, visited the composting facility to review and monitor the entire process of making compost from waste, followed by reviewing the machines and the test product.

Compost (Beliya) is a 100% natural, organic additive that is used to improve the performance of all types of soil.

On that occasion, the CEO of LWMC gave ongoing instructions to the officers concerned to get the facility fully operational.

She also indicated that they should seek the help of modern systems for product testing and development. This Beliya, made from the organic waste, was also registered by the irrigation department.

Rafia Haider went on to explain that converting waste into compost benefits the environment by reducing landfills. Composting will also address the issue of waste disposal, she added.
