GREENSBORO – A new COVID-19 outbreak has been reported at an assisted living facility in Greensboro, according to the NC Department of Health and Human Services.

Two residents of Brighton Gardens of Greensboro tested positive for COVID-19, according to a report released Tuesday. A spokeswoman for the facility at 1208 New Garden Road said she would confirm the information but did not check back to a reporter until early Tuesday evening.

According to NCDHHS guidelines, a COVID-19 outbreak in a community life is defined as two or more laboratory-confirmed cases. An outbreak is considered to have ended if there is no evidence of continued transmission within the last 28 days.

The dates in the condition reports are preliminary and are subject to change as more information becomes available. The cases reported in the reports are not necessarily still active.
