This year the Greater New Bedford Regional Waste Management District will offer two types of compost bins to Dartmouth and New Bedford residents.

The bins – the earth machine and New Age compost – are available at a discounted price of $ 25 each (including tax). Starting April 12, the first ten residents of each community to purchase a compost bin will receive a free stainless steel kitchen counter bin to collect compostable material.

To get a trash can, go to the shed on Crapo Hill Landfill at 300 Samuel Barnet Blvd., New Bedford.

The weighing house is open Monday to Friday from 7.15 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. only in cash or by check.

Mask and proof of residence are required.
