MURRIETA, CA – On a project to help him achieve his Eagle Scout ranking, local teen Jake Otjen decided to build raised beds for residents of Vineyard Place, a community where his grandfather Mike “Lonnie” Kienitz lives in Murrieta .
“Jake has made a real gift to residents, especially at this time of the pandemic when outdoor activities are even more important,” said Chris Balmes, the facility’s director of life commitment. “Many of our residents have gardened before in their lives, and the raised beds allow them to continue doing what they love so much.”
Vineyard Place is located at 24325 Washington Ave. and is operated by Anthem Memory Care, a statewide company that provides community life to people struggling with memory loss, Alzheimer’s disease, and other types of dementia.
Well done Jake! Congratulations on a great project! Check out the slideshow …
